What does refurbishment mean?

The refurbishment philosophy and process at BlueCrest is thorough.

Our programmes are focused on your requirements and specifications. We work with you to analyse the piece of machinery and its role within your wider processes. We analyse how much downtime you’re experiencing due to maintenance issues and evaluate just how much continued machine and process errors are costing you -identifying solutions, risks, and risk mitigations.

This analysis of both your production processes and physical equipment identifies improvements that could be made. This holistic approach means that when your machine is (re-) installed the production benefits are amplified significantly compared to simply “fixing” the machine.

THE BLUECREST REFURBISHMENT PROCESS
Your requirements. Your specifications.

  • Once we receive your machine, we get to work. We conduct robust quality checks before stripping, inspecting, and replacing components. We rebuild the machine to meet any newly identified requirements and test all changes for functionality and safety to ensure regulatory compliance.

    Initial Assessment
Following an initial clean and functionality test machine the following checks are made:

    • Motors and electric drives
    • Service parts
    • Safety and control systems
  • Repairs and cosmetic work

    • Parts which fail our stringent tests are either repaired or replaced
    • Any worn pneumatic parts are replaced
    • Missing / damaged guards and Perspex covers are repaired or replaced
    • Paintwork is professionally prepared and re-sprayed

Re-assembly and testing under production conditions

    • All formats of test material are processed by the machine
    • Any faults which arise during this phase are corrected and the test restarted
    • Once we are satisfied the machine is fault free it is given a final clean
    • Final performance, functionality and integrity tests are completed
    • Completed refurbished machines are available for demonstration – including using clients test material
    • Operator training is available in the BlueCrest Technology Centre or on-site once the machines is re-installed

OUR ASSESSMENT TAKES MANY FACTORS INTO ACCOUNT:

  • Equipment and machinery
  • Speed and versatility (job profiles / type of applications
  • Historic alarm and performance data
  • Work cell performance
  • Operator skills
